Welcome to Menter Iaith Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Monmouthshire’s new website. The last year has been a busy period for the Menter with extensive changes to our status and procedures. We’re now a registered charity and have adopted a new governance system. This is part of working towards PQASSO standards to ensure that we’re ready to face the challenges of working in a modern and transparent manner. We have also moved offices from St. James’ hall in Pontypool to Mamhilad Park Business Estate. There are great facilities here and huge potential to increase the use of Welsh by local businesses.
Following new guidance from the UK Government and Welsh Government relating to the Coronovirus, we will not be holding our weekly conversation groups in Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen or Monmouthshire until further notice.
Also, our gig with Los Blancos on 28/3/2020 and our family event in Little Mill on 20/3/2020 have been postponed. The Menter will be rescheduling these events in a few months time.
Menter Iaith Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Mynwy have decided to take this action with the safety of the public, our staff and volunteers in mind.
As the situation develops, we will conduct more online activities. Menter Iaith BGTM has already started a Skype group which will give you the opportunity to chat with one of our officers over the web. If you are interested in joining the group, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
